I am a graduate of Georgia Southern University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Secondary English Education with a minor Writing. In addition, I have a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum & Instruction and a Specialist in Education with a concentration in General Education Administration from Central Michigan University. I believe education should be ongoing and in order to be an effective teacher, I must make learning a lifelong process. I will graduate in December of this year with a Master of Arts in English Education from Liberty University and will be done with my doctorate December of 2017. I have tutored for many years in all subject areas, but find my true passion is English Language Arts and Writing. Through the years of tutoring, I have found students who receive extra assistance in areas they are having difficulty in tend to be more successful and perform better on assessments. I believe everyone has the ability to learn if provided with the necessary tools and given the opportunity. It is all about building a solid foundation. It is the job of the teacher to foster all learning abilities and provide students with the extra guidance and assurance that learning can take place if put your mind to it. During my free time, I enjoy reading all types of books from different genres, spending time with family and friends, exercising, and shopping.
I am certified in the following areas and have an abundance of experience working with all grade levels:
Middle Grades (4-8) Language Arts
Secondary Grades (6-12) English
Georgia High School Graduation Test Proctor
Educational Leadership (P-12)
I look forward to helping you be successful and gain a better understanding of areas that you are having difficulty.
