In this article I am going to show you how to tell people your name is Mandarin Chinese.
In order to make it easier for you to say it, I decide to use English words as reference. I will use English words that sounds similar to Chinese Pinyin to make the proounciation. Since not every English word will match, I will also cross out some characters. Those characters being crossed out will be in black ink, so you will see it clearly. I have also included the correct pinyin just in case you want to know it.Here is the picture slide I make:
The characters "我的“ correspond to the word "my", and "åå—” correspond to "name", and "是“ correspond to ”is", and Peter is the name obviously, that is just a sample name, you can put whatever name there to say your name. I cross out the "k" in english word "wok" to simulate the pinyin "wo", so you can understand it better. So in English the whole sentence sounds like "Wok the Mean zi shi Peter", even though in English it makes no sense, but that sounds like the pinyin. So if you are having trouble learning pinyin, use that simulation to memorize it.
