Acceleration-Derivative of Velocity

Acceleration is the derivative of velocity. We know the if distant is x, then velocity is the derivative of x with respect to time t. In other words, v=dx/dt. And since acceleration a is the derivative of velocitity with respect to t, we have the following formula:

Notice that we plug v=dx/dt into the formula dv/dt to attain the final result.
