Hundreds of students change their future by working with a TutaPoint tutor. Tutors often become mentors and increase their mentees confidence, provide study skills and academic knowledge while delivering instruction to mentees in a comfortable learning environment. Scholarship winner will receive $250
Students that benefited from tutoring at TutaPoint are invited to participate in the First Annual: Stories of Success Essay Contest. Essays will be evaluated by three writing judges and scored. The winning entry will receive a $250 scholarship. Additional prizes may be awarded as determined by the judges.
To enter the scholarship contest:
- Students must be at least 13 years old or has the permission of a guardian or parent
- Students must be 18 years old or younger
- Must have used TutaPoint this school year for at least two tutoring sessions or test preparation
- Essays must be between 200 and 400 words
- Complete the form below. Essays should be written to describe how tutoring at TutaPoint improved school performance. Students should be as descriptive as possible and explain how their academic life was changed for the better by using a tutor.
- Entries must be received by Friday, May 8, 2015 at 5:00pm Eastern Time.
- Winner will be announced on Friday, May 15, 2015
- All entries become the property of TutaPoint, LLC and may be used in part or whole in materials produced by TutaPoint (including but not limited to web, email and print). Only an an entrant’s first name and State will be published (no other identifiable information will be visible to the public)
Essays will be evaluated on (30 point scale):
- Following instructions (up to 10 points)
- Spelling / grammar / writing quality (10 points)
- Description of how tutoring impacted your grades / academics / home life (10 points)
- Entrants will only be notified if they have won and will not be provided with their essay’s score.
Scholarship Entry Rules
- Entrants must be between the ages of 13 – 18
- Entrants must have used TutaPoint’s services (at least two sessions of 30 minutes each) or test prep through EdgePrep or the One-Day Class during the 2014/2015 school year
