Hello, my name is Cole! I am an online tutor in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. I also am a certified online ESL/EFL teacher. My personal teaching and tutoring experience is diverse, and began in 2010. I tutored subjects of high school math, physics, and chemistry from 2010 to 2012. I attended the University of Colorado Boulder starting in 2012, and graduated May 2016 with summa cum laude in Geological Sciences, and a minor in Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences. Overall, I took 141 credit hours and participated in multiple teaching, tutoring, and peer-learning opportunities listed next. I was a grader for GEOL 2001 – Planet Earth from August–December 2015. I graded in-class worksheets and homework, facilitated a good classroom-learning environment. I was also a learning assistant and teacher for GEOL 1010 – Introduction to Geology from January–May 2015. I facilitated learning through teaching, discussions, and grading homework and exam questions. Since graduating, I have been a Certified Professional Skiing Instructor from November 2016–March 2017, where I instructed children and adult alpine skiing group/private lessons levels 1–5. I received my 200-hour TEFL Certification through the International TEFL Academy in July 2017. This consisted of 150 hours of EFL/ESL coursework, 15 hours of business English coursework, 15 hours of young learners English coursework, and 22 hours of course ESL practicum. For the practicum, I was an ESL Tutor and Teaching Assistant in Dillon, Colorado from May–July 2017. Here I participated in individual tutoring, direct instruction, and co-teaching of beginner-intermediate adult ESL/EFL classes. I also participated in the overall observation of beginner, intermediate, and advanced ESL/EFL lessons.
