I have team taught Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 college prep courses for 11 years incorporating various instructional modalities and strategies for students with learning disabilities as well as non-disabled students. I have also tutored high school students in test taking and study skills techniques, note taking skills and SAT prep. I also taught students at the elementary level in basic reading and math skills for 3 years. I believe it is important to begin the tutoring process with the student by reinforcing known skills and linking new information to the skills understood by the student. In this way the student can create a better foundation for applying the new skills learned. I reinforce the learning process by applying memory techniques and incorporating study skills into the learning process.
